If you have not been enrolled in classes at UCSD for two full quarters, you must apply for readmission. The Readmission Application is available online. You must complete the application process at least one month before the quarter you wish to return to allow time for processing and timely course enrollment.

1. You left UCSD with a hold placed by the Dean of Student Affairs
2. You left UCSD on your own volition i.e. were NOT academically disqualified (dismissed)
3. You were dismissed from UCSD for failing to meet the Entry Level Writing (Subject A) Requirement
4. You were academically disqualified (dismissed) from UCSD OR left while on a Final Quarter Contract
If you left UCSD with a hold placed by the Dean of Student Affairs:
You must contact that office to have the hold lifted to process your application for readmission. TMC Student Affairs can be reached at 858-534-4390.
If you left UCSD on your own volition, i.e. you were NOT academically disqualified (dismissed):
1) File a Readmission Application and pay the required fee.
2) If you left the university in good standing, a review by the advising office will not be required.
3) If you were Subject to Dismissal upon leaving the university, your readmission must be reviewed by Academic Advising.
4) You will be required to clear any holds on your record before the readmission process can be completed.
If you were dismissed from UCSD for failing to meet the Entry Level Writing Requirement:
1) You must show the Basic Writing Program that you have completed at least one college level composition course, as well as papers written in that course. The Basic Writing Program can be reached at: 858-534-6177.
2) You will need to pass the Redemption Exam.
3) After you pass the redemption exam, file a Readmission Application with the Registrar's Office and pay the required fee. They will require approval from Academic Advising to readmit you. You will be required to clear any holds on your record before the readmission process can be completed.
4) If you were also dismissed for academic performance, you will need to follow the appeals process outlined in the next link.
If you were academically disqualified (dismissed) from UCSD or left while on a Final Quarter Contract:
1) File a Readmission Application with the Registrar's Office.
2) Pay the required fee at the Cashier's Office.
3) If you have attended another college or university since you were at UCSD, send official transcripts of all that work to the UCSD Admissions Office for posting to your academic history on TritonLink .
4) Complete the TMC Readmission Appeal (pdf) and return it to the TMC Advising Office.
5) TMC Advising will review your appeal and community college transcripts. Once a decision has been made, you will be contacted by the Academic Advising office.
6) The Registrar's Office will contact you when the process is complete with instructions as to how you can enroll in your classes.
8) Be sure to pay all fees on time!
