Academic Support

CLICS offers a variety of computing resources including information on how students can more effectively do research. CLIC’s is open 24 hours during finals week and offers small rooms which students can reserve to use for study groups.

OASIS offers workshops through the writing program which work as a supplement to both lectures and sections.  Workshops meet weekly and cover a variety of topics including course readings, midterms and final prep.

Eduspace provides you with online courses and content in multiple disciplines. Eduspace makes it easy to create all or part of a course online. Homework, exercises, quizzes, tests, tutorials, and supplemental study materials all come ready-to-use, and can be modified whenever needed.

Smarthinking Online Tutoring is a service linking students to experienced composition instructors for interactive one-on-one writing assistance and helpful feedback on submitted drafts. 

Turnitin.com is a resource for professors that enables them to prevent plagarism. Copies of all DOC papers must be submitted to the website before the assigned deadline .

WebCT is a trusted industry leader in providing e-learning systems for educational institutions. WebCT offers DOC students information based on their specific section.

"Netiquette" is network etiquette, the do's and don'ts of online communication. Netiquette covers both common courtesy online and the informal "rules of the road" of cyberspace. This page provides links to both summary and detail information about Netiquette for your browsing pleasure.

The Women's Center at UCSD provides education and support on gender issues affecting UCSD students, faculty, staff, andthe community. The Center aims to advance women's intellectual, professional,and personal goals, and to increase awareness of the issues affecting women and men of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The Asian Pacific-Islander Student Alliance (APSA) is concerned with social, political, and cultural issues in nature. By doing so, we attempt to provide educational awareness which develops anz` environment of consciousness beyond the academic boundaries. We strive to increase the accessibility and exposure of current API issues to all students.

Black Student Union (BSU)- The organization was created with the goal of creating a sense of community amongst the small number of African/ African -American Students through the hosting of social gatherings, meetings and events, discussions, dances and much more.  The organization has evolved over the years and boast to have had the involvement of such leaders as Angela Davis.

Kaibigang Pilipino (KP) is UCSD's collective of students, faculty, and friends organized around issues particular to the Filipino community. Our name, meaning “Friendship of Filipinos,” reflects our cooperation within the Filipino community to serve as a collective unit for change and togetherness.

It is the goal of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicana/o de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A.) to form a support system that deals with the specific needs and problems of Raza students at this University. M.E.Ch.A. provides an opportunity for all Raza to work together for common goals; to collectively help each other with problems one encounters at this University and to develop leadership qualities among its members.

Student Committee
on Residential
Enhancement
(SCORE)

The Student Committee on Residential Enhancement is the representative body for the Marshall residence halls and apartments. SCORE meets weekly to plan programs and advocate for the rights of Marshall residents. Representative selected from each community are required to attend these meetings so that students from all areas of Marshall Residential Life are represented.

Thurgood Marshall Television Programming Committee

The Thurgood Marshall Television Programming Committee is a team of students with diverse interests who coordinate all evening and weekend programs for TMTV. The students pick movies before they are released for home viewing to be shown each month. They create all student shows from scripts to taping to editing.

Partners at Learning Service Learning
The PAL (Partners At Learning) Program is the service-learning division of UCSD's Education Studies. PAL classes give UCSD students meaningful opportunities to learn about and experience issues of equity and education in San Diego's K-12 schools. Through PAL, UCSD students serve as tutors and mentors in K-12 classrooms throughout San Diego County. Each year PAL students contribute about 20,000 hours of service to under-served schools.
