Thurgood Marshall College (TMC) is offering new transfer students the opportunity to connect with members of our faculty through participation in our Marshall Mentor Program. We value the importance of student interaction with faculty and encourage you to join the Marshall Mentor Program and enhance your college experience as scholars and citizens.

What is a TMC Faculty Mentor?

A TMC faculty mentor is a professor interested in establishing and maintaining connections with new TMC transfer students. Participating faculty have chosen to connect with a maximum of 5 transfer students as a guide and a resource throughout their undergraduate years.

What is a Mentee?

How does the Faculty & Transfer Mentorship program work?

  • Students are matched with TMC faculty based on major, academic interests and other identified criteria. Criteria are used as best as possible to determine matches.
  • Faculty mentors will work with a maximum of five newly enrolled TMC transfer students.
  • Mentors and mentees will meet/interact with one another at least three times per quarter.
  • All Marshall Mentor Program participants will be recognized at the end of the year celebration banquet.
