SCORE, Spirit, TMTV, Resident Advisor and Other Links
Annually Marshall Residence Life with other college organizations provides over 500 programs including the Opening Dance, Battle of the Halls, Dia de Los Muertos, Social Change Fair, Lunar New Year, and a large variety of activities in each building to help people get to know each other. There are many campus wide student organizations, but the ones listed here are designed to provide an opportunity for Thurgood Marshall residents to influence their surroundings. To reach these organizations, email the advisor or visit the Res Life office.
Student Committee on Residential Enhancement (SCORE)
The Student Committee on Residential Enhancement is the representative body for the Marshall residence halls and apartments. SCORE meets weekly to plan programs and advocate for the rights of Marshall residents. Representative selected from each community are required to attend these meetings so that students from all areas of Marshall Residential Life are represented. Dawn Cone is the advisor to this organization.
Student Committee on Residential Enhancement Spirit Sub-Committee
The Student Committee on Residential Enhancement
Spirit Sub-Committee collaborates with the Thurgood Marshall College Spirit Committee and Marshall Activities Committee to plan the festivities during the UCSD Basketball Season. Every January the UCSD athletics department hosts a variety of competitions leading up to
Spirit Night. Spirit Night is an evening where much is done to highlight the basketball teams at UCSD. Dawn Cone and Lisa Garcia are the advisors to this organization. Congratulations to everyone involved who helped Marshall bring home the trophy this 2007 Winter season for the ninth year. Marshall spirit will live forever. Way to go!
Thurgood Marshall Television (TMTV)
Thurgood Marshall Television is a team of students with diverse interests who coordinate all evening and weekend programming for Channel 20. The students select 8 popular new release movies to be shown each month. They create all student shows from scripts to taping to editing including Marshall Matters, What the Fork, Sex Q & A with Your RA, and others. They also put on a few events like the Marshallpalooza Talent Show, a telethon, and an open house. There is presently a movie being created by the TMTV staff. Mitchelle Greenlee is the advisor to this organization.
TMTV is proud to have it's own web site run by students (click on the logo to view website).
TMTV is operated completely by students and therefore depends upon fundraising efforts. You may purchase student linens from
Res Hall Linens to support the station. Parents and such may purchase ads for $3 per week

If you are a local business or department, we can advertise for you this way too.
Resident Advisers for the Marshall Residential Life area are selected through an extensive interview process beginning in early winter quarter. Information about the process is given out during information sessions during the first 2-3 weeks of winter quarter. If you have any questions about this position stop by the Office of Residential Life or see your Resident Adviser. Positions are also available for Programming, Communication, and Summer Internships.
