DOC is a thought-provoking and interesting sequence of courses; however, it is also extremely rigorous and challenging. That said, you may find times where you wish you had some extra help on the concepts, readings, assignments, and papers. That’s what DOC Writing Assistance is for!
Amber Carini Estes, M.A., is DOC's Writing Specialist. She is available to help DOC students with all aspects of the writing process, including:

- Understanding Assignments
- Brainstorming and Planning

- Outlining, Structure, and Organization
- Revising

How to Sign Up for an Appointment:
Students can stop by 125 Sequoyah Hall at any time to sign up for an individual appointment or workshop. Though Amber is happy to answer any general questions you may have via phone or e-mail, you do need to schedule your appointments in person.

Please understand these important policies before you sign up for assistance:
- Amber WILL NOT proofread or edit your drafts for you; rather, she will help you learn how to do it yourself.
- Amber WILL NOT respond to student work sent via e-mail or dropped off for her. You must meet with her in person for a tutoring session.
- Only ONE INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENT PER PERSON, PER WEEK!
- IF YOU MUST MISS AN APPOINTMENT OR WORKSHOP, please be sure to either…
