DOC 3: Imagination
DOC 3 is a six-unit course that is offered every Spring Quarter. Prerequisite: Students must have satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement 
before the end of the previous quarter. Please read the paragraphs under "Dimensions of Culture Program" in the UCSD Schedule of Classes [link not yet available] for important enrollment information.
"Imagination" plays out many of the themes raised in the previous two courses through various artifacts of modern American culture, particularly the novels, music, films, and television from the post-war period until the present. Of central importance is the understanding of representation and how to interpret cultural texts.
