Aaron majored in both American Literature and Film & Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz. He also received his M.A. in Literature at UCSC, with a thesis examining the intersections of power, rhetoric, and religion, in the constructions of the contemporary "Culture War" in the United States. |

Edward majored in Literatures in English and minored in Philosophy here at UCSD (Marshall College). His studies now focus on late 19th- and early 20th- century imperialism, U.S. foreign policy in Latin America, and Marxist cultural and economic theory. |

Zeynep earned a B.A. in Sociology in Istanbul, where she went on to receive other advanced degrees. She is in the Music department’s doctoral program in Critical Studies/Experimental Practices, with an emphasis on contemporary voice performance and sound art. She is engaged with the readings of psychoanalysis, existential philosophy, and aesthetics. |

Jeff majored in English and Education at Fairfield University, and later earned an M.A. in Education from Harvard. His research interests include early American and 19th Century U.S. literature. His additional areas of interest include gender studies and intersections of identity in U.S. culture. |

Mitch received a B.A. in Philosophy and B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University. He earned his M.A. in Philosophy at UCSD, and is currently working on a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Cognitive Science, through the Philosophy Department and the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Cognitive Science. His research focuses on an aspect of social cognition known as "folk psychology" or "theory of mind": our ability to interpret people’s mental states (what they believe, desire, feel, etc.) and to use this information to explain and predict their behavior. |

She researches literary traditions developed by immigrants, the effects of war on the way people of different countries interact, and the power of mothers to keep their families together. |

Niall received his B.A. in English from Binghamton University and his M.A. in English from Boston College. His research interests include the intersections of racial hybridity and class, collectivist social and economic movements, and grassroots forms of resistance to coercive spaces such as prisons, reservations, and refugee camps. He is also fascinated by the destructive and constructive power of different types of “space invaders” from guerilla soldiers to guerilla marketers. |
