A Welcome from the Provost

Thurgood Marshall College is committed to partnering with you to provide our students with the best academic and social environment possible during their undergraduate years.

Our primary focus is supporting students' well-being while integrating the overall dynamic life of the college. We have a remarkable staff of knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring individuals in all of our college units. These include:

  • Academic Advising provides specific guidance to Marshall College students about fulfilling their general education requirements. It oversees the college Honors Seminar and provides academic counseling for students experiencing academic difficulty.
  • The Dimensions of Culture (DOC) Program is our three-quarter core college sequence for first-year students. It addresses the college societal themes of Diversity, Justice, and Imagination, and also provides intensive instruction in university-level writing.
  • Student Life provides leadership, service, and social opportunities that all of our students are encouraged to take advantage of to enhance their university experience. Student Affairs coordinates a variety of academic support programs, and also houses our college Psychological and Counseling Services staff.
  • The Residential Life Office is simultaneously part of campus Housing Services and of Thurgood Marshall College Student Affairs. Housing Services oversees the physical aspects of Residential Life, while Student Affairs oversees all student activities in the college residence halls and apartments.

We look forward to seeing you when you are on campus!
