  • Thurgood Marshall Week (November)
Thurgood Marshall Week is a weeklong celebration of our college namesake, Justice Thurgood Marshall (1908-1993). The Week presents diverse venues of expression and interaction to raise consciousness of social issues and Marshall College's contributions.
  • Marshallpalooza (November)
Marshallpalooza, a free student-run carnival, is one of the best highlights of Fall Quarter, and one of the biggest events of the year! Open to ALL UC San Diego students with a valid student ID.

Winter Quarter

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Day of Service (January)
Join us in the fight for freedom through education. March with all of UC San Diego in this parade celebrating and continuing the works of Dr. King, and then join us for a Day of Service to make a positive, lasting impact on our community. More information available on the MLK Day website.
  • Spirit Night (February)
Throughout the month of January, UC San Diego hosts a series of events to build Triton pride, culminating in Spirit Night at the women’s and men’s basketball game in early February. Check back here for this year’s schedule of events.
  • Black History Month (February)
February marks the beginning of Black History Month, a federally recognized, nationwide celebration that provides the opportunity for all Americans to reflect on the significant roles that African Americans have played in the shaping of U.S. history. UC San Diego will honor the history and accomplishments of African Americans in celebration of Black History Month. More information available on the Black History Month website.
