The Thurgood Marshall College Exchange Program officially launched in the fall quarter of 1989 with the UC San Diego - Spelman/Morehouse Student Exchange Program. This formal exchange program was developed by Thurgood Marshall College and is open to all UC San Diego undergraduates. Morehouse and Spelman Colleges are located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Marshall College is also excited to share a new exchange program with Xavier University of Louisiana, beginning Winter 2017.

Purpose of the Exchange Program

The purpose of the program is to provide a unique opportunity for students to live and study at important institutions of higher learning that are significantly different from the social and educational environment typical of California state colleges and universities. Similarly, the exchange students coming to UC San Diego from Morehouse College, Spelman College, and soon Xavier University of Louisiana, will have an opportunity to experience an exciting and very different educational environment.

Additional information about the exchange institutions, exchange program eligibility and costs, and the exchange program application, can be found in the drawers below.
