Resident Assistant (RA) Selection


Join the 2020-2021 Marshall Resident Assistant team!

A few things you'll want to know about applying to be a Marshall College Resident Assistant.

Minimum Requirements

  • Sophomore standing by September 2020
  • 2.5 Cumulative GPA at time of application
  • Full Time UCSD enrollment (12+ units) for the entire 2020-2021 academic year

How to Apply

  • Click HERE to apply.  Applications available now until Wednesday, January 8th, 2020.

      • You do not need to complete everything the first time you log in; you can save your application and come back to it. You may want to prepare your answers beforehand or you can work and save your progress in the online application

     

  • If you are currently an RA/HA in good standing in any residential area, including Marshall, you will complete the online application as a returner.  If we choose to pursue your candidacy, you will be given instructions for how to sign up for an interview as well as the presentation/interview prompt.

    • Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 6:00 pm in Fireside Lounge @ Marshall College.
    • Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 3:00 pm in Angela's Space @ Marshall College

This will be a casual event hosted by Residential Life to have some snacks, meet our professional and student staff, and ask some questions about our department, programs, and leadership.

Group Process Interview: Saturday, January 25, Time to be determined

Marshall RA Candidates chosen to move forward with our selection process will be contacted to participate in our Group Process Interview.  The goal of our process is to continue to make applicants aware of Marshall culture and values and to observe how they work collaboratively with their peers. 

Individual Interviews: Throughout early to mid February, Times will vary 

Finalists will be invited to meet with a Marshall Res Life professional staff member and a current RA to share more about their candidacy.

Returning RA candidates will be invited to schedule an interview with our professional staff members.  

Decision Letters: Sent by Friday, March 6 at 2:00 pm

Emails will be sent to all applicants about our selection decisions.  Candidates that are offered positions will need to confirm their acceptance or rejection of the position by Monday, March 9 at 5:00 pm.
