Interested in contributing your ideas to Marshall's signature annual events? Learning and/or practicing event planning? Building your leadership, communication, and time management skills? Join one of our short-term planning committees and make your mark on an annual tradition!

Marshallpalooza (MPZ) Committee

Marshallpalooza is a carnival and concert that is the culmination of Thurgood Marshall Week each November. The Marshallpalooza Committee is a student-led endeavor to plan this cornerstone annual event. Student committee members are involved in all aspects of the carnival: deciding all games, rides, food, vendors, and entertainment; generating all publicity and marketing; and providing leadership to ensure a successful carnival experience for all.

Thurgood Vibes

Annual Winter quarter event. Event first launched in Spring of 2020, which meant a rough launch. Since its inception it has colloborated as part of Spring 2022 AS Sun God Music Festival, and in Winter 2023 brought Jeremy Zucker to PriceCenter West. This newer annual program is still developing its name witnin the rich history of Thurgood Marshall College.

Leadership Committee for Cultural Celebration (LC3)

Cultural Celebration, in partnership with UC San Diego's Triton Day, opens a doorway to different world cultures for current and admitted UC San Diego students, their families, and the local community. Cultural Celebration is Marshall's largest community event of the year. LC3 is the student-led committee that plans and hosts this multicultural festival, including recruiting on- and off-campus entertainment, inviting small businesses to the Marshall Public Market, coordinating all event logistics and volunteers, and planning educational activities for children and the community related to the Celebration's annual theme.

Senior Week Committee

Senior Week Committee is a special opportunity for graduating seniors to put on events and programs that help say “good bye!” in the best way possible to other graduating seniors. With funding from TMCSC, a committee lead by the Student Affairs Deans Ambassdors works to put on fun events that help seniors prepare for life after College, enjoy their time left on-campus, and graduate in style! Past events have included a LinkedIn workshop, campus restaurant crawl, professional headshots, and DIY cap-decorating.
