Marshall Student Organizations

Marshall currently sponsors six student organizations. Distinct in purpose, each organization gives opportunities for you to explore your interests and passions. The organizations are open membership (no fees or applications required), so you are free to explore and attend meetings and events as you please. You can join in at any time of the year.

Active Community at Thurgood Marshall (ACT)

Live out the values of our College by giving back to the Marshall community! Through meaningful community service, ACT explores how to actively make a positive impact on your community.

FOOSH Improv

Learn how to improv and put on engaging shows for the community! FOOSH has weekly practices on Mondays and Wednesdays with various show opportunities throughout the quarter year!

Marshall Transfers and Commuters (MTAC)

Marshall Transfers and Commuters (MTAC) is a student organization dedicated to improving the transfer and commuter student experience at Marshall. Join MTAC and sharpen your leadership and planning skills while also helping other commuter students build community at their College! As an involved student leader, you will have the opportunity to shape the experiences and activities of commuter students at Marshall College, and positively impact the commuter student experience.

Thurgood Marshall College Student Council (TMCSC)

TMC Student Council is the student representative body for the Marshall community. TMCSC advocates on behalf of Marshall students through appointments to various campus and college committees. TMCSC is also responsible for allocating funds to other Marshall and campus organizations looking for support. TMCSC strives to fulfill the Marshall philosophy, to contribute to the UCSD community, and to encourage others to do the same.

Thurgood Marshall Television (TMTV)

Since 1996 this organization has been producing high quality video for television, film, and screen.  TMTV is a completely student-run station attracting undergraduate students all over campus, especially students of TMC. With opportunities for filming, editing, writing, website creation and more, there is a little something for everyone. Past video productions from TMTV may be viewed primarily on YouTube and the UCSD TMTV Facebook group.

Marshall Community Garden

The Thurgood Marshall Community Garden serves as an opportunity to learn about sustainable living, provide an outdoor study area, and a means to develop a close-knit Marshall community. The garden is accessible for all students to participate in growing their own sustainable, fresh, organic food. All students are welcome to come together and engage in community building. The Community Garden group meets weekly- come plant, harvest, plan, eat and serve with us.
