Dear Marshall Students,
Happy Week 7 (how did that happen!). It’s Marshall Week! This is the week when we celebrate our namesake, Thurgood Marshall and his legacy. Thurgood Marshall was the ultimate Scholar and Citizen. He was a lifelong advocate for equal access to education, and he was the first African American Supreme Court Justice. Keep an eye out on our social media, and below for some fantastic events. The one i’m the most excited about is that tomorrow evening (November 17), we will have a Q & A with John Marshall, who is the son of Thurgood Marshall, and who has worked on issues around the criminal justice system and civil rights, after a long career in the justice system. I hope you can join us; register here.
Like all of you, I’m feeling quite slammed with how very week 7 during 2020 this is, so I’m going to keep this brief. One thing I did want to share that I learned last week is that the Career Center is open, and has both in person (with an appointment, in limited supply) and remote appointments, and they would like to encourage everyone to take advantage of their resource - even if you are early in your time here; it’s never too late to get guidance on your next steps!
Best,
Provost Carver
