Hi, all!
Huge congrats on making it through this strange academic year! I know it’s been incredibly challenging, and you should all be proud of yourselves, whether it was a breeze or even if it didn’t go as planned - simply finishing is a major achievement. I hope we’ve been able to support you and your needs. I wish that I was able to do more because I know students have faced unprecedented challenges. I look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus next year (if you’re not graduating) and rebuilding some of the community we may have lost over the remote year.
In wrapping up the year, we are also wrapping up our celebration of Marshall’s 50th Anniversary. Although everything had to be remote, I think it’s been a fantastic and inspiring year. A few memories that stand out for me are our founding class alumni panel, John Marshall panel, reading Alicia Garza’s book for ThurGood Reads, the creation of the Health Disparities Initiative, and a panel webinar with Dr. Angela Davis. My hope for that event is that Dr. Davis challenges us to continue her work in the founding of the college. |
