Marshall College Petition Processing Timelines

Due to the large volume of documents processed by Marshall College advising, students can anticipate a processing period for their document. Document processing timelines cannot be expedited, and students are encouraged to plan accordingly to meet any submission deadlines they may have.

Financial Aid, Scholarships, and VA Benefit Forms

 

Financial Aid Forms

Financial Aid forms, including SAP appeals and Max Time forms, are processed by Marshall College in three (3) business days.

Please note forms submitted after 12:00 PM will be processed and routed to an advisor for review on the following business day. Forms are not processed on university holidays or weekends.

Scholarship Forms

Scholarship Forms, including forms for BASF students, are processed within ten (10) business days when submitted through the Marshall College Petition Submission Form. 

Students requesting signature on a scholarship form due in less than ten (10) business days should meet with Marshall College Academic Advising during In-Person drop-in advising or by appointment. Please note that signature during an appointment is not guaranteed and will depend on the details of your request.

VA Benefit Forms

Forms managed by the International Services and Engagement Office (ISEO) that require Marshall College signature are processed within three (3) business days. This includes Reduced Course Load (RCL) forms, OPT forms, and I-20 extension forms.

International Student Forms and Study Abroad Forms

International Services and Engagement Office (ISEO) forms

Forms managed by the International Services and Engagement Office (ISEO) that require Marshall College signature are processed within three (3) business days. This includes Reduced Course Load (RCL) forms, OPT forms, and I-20 extension forms.

Study Abroad Academic Planning Forms (EAP / OAP)

Academic Planning forms submitted through OnBase or through the Marshall College Petitions and Document Submission Form are processed within three (3) business days. This includes Academic Planning Forms and Program Extension forms.

EASy Requests

EASy Requests to Enroll in More than 22 units in a single quarter

Enrollment Authorization System (EASy) requests to enroll in more than 22.0 units for the current term can be submitted beginning the first Monday of instruction for the term. These requests are processed within three (3) business days.

EASy Requests to enroll in a Special Studies course (197-199) or an AIP course

Enrollment Authorization System (EASy) requests to enroll in a Special Studies or AIP course are processed following the start of enrollment for the quarter, and an update is provided through EASy within ten (10) business days.

College GE petitions must be submitted through the Marshall College Academic Advising Petition and Document Submission form.

Common Application and SCOIR Forms

Common Application and SCOIR forms, including Mid-Year College Reports and Transfer Reports, require signature from multiple offices within Marshall College.

As such, students are encouraged to submit their forms as soon as possible to ensure their documents are sent to their prospective institutions by the requested deadline. Common Application and SCOIR forms cannot be expedited. These forms are processed by Marshall College based on the order they are received through the Marshall College Academic Advising Petition and Document Submission system.

Completion Plans

Undergraduate Completion Plans must be reviewed by the major department before it can be reviewed by Thurgood Marshall College. Please allow up to 10 business days (excluding weekends or holidays) for yoru form to be process.

ROTC Forms

ROTC forms are processed within ten (10) business days when submitted through the Marshall College Petition Submission Form. 

Students requesting signature on a ROTC form due in less than ten (10) business days should meet with Marshall College Academic Advising during In-Person drop-in advising or by appointment. Extension of an Incomplete/ Retroactive request for an Incomplete

Petitions to extend a current incomplete for a course, or to retroactively request an incomplete, require multiple levels of review and approval. As such, students should anticipate at least one (1) month to receive an decision on a petition from Marshall College after all initial submission steps are complete.

Steps for a successful submission include: Submission of initial petition materials through the Marshall College Petition and Document Submission Form, scheduling and attendance of a meeting with Marshall's Dean of Academic Advising, and completion of any subsequent submissions as discussed during the meeting.

Retroactive Add/Enrollment in a Course

Petitions to retroactively withdrawal from a course or the entire quarter require multiple levels of review and approval. As such, students should anticipate at least one (1) month to receive an decision on a petition from Marshall College after all initial submission steps are complete.
