How to Prepare for Your Marshall College Advising Session
Privacy Considerations For Your Advising Session
By participating in an online meeting, individuals in proximity to you may have the ability to see or hear information that is shared while the appointment is taking place. As the academic advisor will conduct the online appointment in a location that will help maintain your privacy during the session, it is also your responsibility to do the same in your physical location. Likewise, if your device is video capable, please keep in mind that you will be visible to the academic advisor. Ensure you are in appropriate surroundings and attire.
Steps to Prepare
Complete the following steps to prepare for your advising session.
Review Your Academic History
Your Academic History will display transfer coursework that has posted to your record. While your record is still undergoing updates, information posted here will be available to you and your advisor.
Review the Schedule of Classes
We recommend bringing a potential list of courses to your advising appointment. Your advisor can review your list and provide guidance on which courses to prioritize for your first pass and address other questions that you may have.
Run Your Student Degree Audit
Your student degree audit will be your guide toward completing your graduation requirements. While degree audits are still undergoing updates, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with how to run the degree audit.
Monitor Your UCSD Email
Updates regarding your Remote Office Hour session - including a link to access the meeting room - will be sent to your UCSD email within 24 hours of your event time.
